Living in harmony with the Law of Attraction
February 21, 2009 by Natasha
Yesterday I used an overflowing coffee mug as an example of why we need to take some to de-stress. Here is my first suggestion on how you can incorporate this into your life.
Living in harmony with the Law of Attraction (LOA) is the number one stop for anyone who wants to live a life with less stress.
LOA says that we attract into our lives that which we focus our thoughts, energy and attention, whether wanted or unwanted. This basically means that whatever you have in your life, you have attracted it, this includes your stress levels.
Many people find it hard to believe that they themselves are the real cause of their stress, as opposed to the situations they encounter. Whatever you choose to believe, I can tell you that it doesn’t matter. Your life is a product of exactly where you focus your thoughts, energy and attention, so these need to change for you to experience a calmer environment.
To help you out, here are the 3 steps you need to follow to attract more of what you want and less of what you don’t want.
1) To get what you want in life you have to be clear about what it is you want. If you don’t know what you want then how can you have it? Be as specific as you can, this means taking the time to really think about what you want. I suggest you take a look at all things stressful in your life and decide what you would like to replace it with instead.
2) Now you need to focus your attention on what you want . LOA says that we attract into our lives that which we focus on, if that’s the case then you definitely need to focus on what you want rather than what you don’t want. This should be easy if you’ve done step 1.
3) This is the most difficult part even for avid LOA practicers. This is where you hear people say ‘Law of Attraction doesn’t work for me’ and they fall back into their old ways. If you want to enjoy more relaxation (in fact whatever you want more of), don’t give up here! This is where you have to allow your want to come to you. Allowing is where you let go of doubt and believe you can have what you want. Do you know anybody who had what they wanted without believing they could have it?
I hope you’ve enjoyed the read and come back tomorrow for another suggestion on how you can keep your coffee mug half full!

How full is your Stress Mug?
February 20, 2009 by Natasha
According to UK HSE stress statistics, over 13 million working days are lost every year because of stress. With a huge 70% of visits to doctors and 85% of serious illnesses thought to have been caused by stress. Is it any wonder that we fill up on medication just to get through the day.
I like to give my clients an example to help them understand why they have to release their daily stresses and anxieties. It’s all too common for us to work, work, work and not give ourselves any de-stress time. This can sometimes be a live or die situation.
Imagine your stress levels as a mug of coffee. This is your stress mug. When the mug is empty you have no stress, when the mug is full you are brimming with stress.
Everyone of us start our day with some coffee in our mug, this is underlying stress from past events that is normally undetected because we no longer recognise it as a stress.
From the time we wake up our stress levels are on the up, all it takes is to wake up late, miss your first cup of coffee, run out of cigarettes, get stuck in traffic, be late for a meeting/get kids to school, have too much to do, eat badly, not drink enough water….you get my picture. Before we know it the tiny things have filled our coffee mug until it is half full, YIKES! Finally we go to bed and get ready to tackle the next day.
The next day we go through the whole process again but this time we have an unexpected situation arise and our stress levels almost fill our coffee mug. By day 3, we’re so grateful it’s the week-end that we have a lie in, we take it easy, we have a great day and then all of a sudden we break a glass and that’s it, our coffee mug has overflowed and our inner volcano erupts. At this point it really wouldn’t matter what would have happened, your coffee mug as simply overflowed with nowhere for it to go, other than to cause an explosion.
Now I’m not saying this has happened to you, but I’m sure you know someone who has experienced an overflowing coffee mug
So what can you start doing immediately to keep your coffee inside your mug?
There are a range to choose from, however, I must point out that ALL of them will require you to change some or all aspects of your life. Over the following days I will be giving you some tips on how you can keep your mug half full!
