I love to read!

For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved reading.  I couldn’t wait to get home from school and lie in bed to finish the book we happened to be reading in class.  I have a distinct memory of reading ‘Of Mice and Men’, I absolutely loved every moment of it and I read it all in a one night.  I was in absolute awe when we went to the theater to watch the play.  I can’t quite say I had a penchant for Shakespeare, a very big shame really, but still I loved to read which I think put me in great stead growing up in a poor family.

For many years, I would read novels, I would buy and buy and buy and would fill boxes galore.  I had an image of having a great big library and all my books filling the room to its brim.  Having moved country so many times, I’ve since given those boxes to anyone who would have them.  I’m still holding my great big library vision, I just need to settle in a country long enough first!

My favourite author for many years was James Patterson, a crime novelist who would reel you in with very short chapters so you couldn’t put the book down!  He’d knock out a couple a year and I couldnt wait to get my hands on his new arrival.  These days I tend to lean more towards educational and autobiographies.  I just can’t get enough, which often means I’m reading several books at the same time, some of which I never quite get to finish.

I love to buy through amazon.co.uk because they have a wide range of choice especialy in the self development/growth & spirituality sections.  Of course, there are some that I have to order from USA, which can cost a fortune in shipping but often very worth while.  Shipping costs to Belgium are very reasonable these days, which makes it more than easy to update my library.

I’ve got quite a few books in my collection, some which I’ve tried to read but didn’t get passed the first few pages.  I seem to have a knowing for what my body, mind and soul needs, if I’m not glued at a particular time then it goes away until I’m ready!

My last purchases from amazon.co.uk were Malcolm Gladwells, Tipping Point, Blink and his most recent Outliers.  I also picked up Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch, his book and DVD and the Peacuful Warrior DVD.

I’ll be using my blog as an opportunity to share my thoughts on what I’m reading, watching or listening to, which may perhaps give you some inspiration to do the same!

I’d love to hear from you, if you have any great recommendations!

Hugs,
Natasha
